MG3 Gold is an advanced gold heat-treated NiTi rotary endodontic file system designed for efficient, safe, and predictable root canal shaping. Featuring an integrated glide path and shaping sequence (SV, PX, G1, G2X, G2), it reduces instrument changes while delivering excellent flexibility, superior cyclic fatigue resistance, and smooth canal preparation—especially in thin, long, and curved canals.
MG3 Gold – Rotary Endodontic File System
MG3 Gold is the new upgraded generation of the MG3 rotary endodontic system, designed to deliver higher efficiency, improved safety, and predictable root canal shaping, especially in thin, long, and curved canals. Manufactured from advanced gold heat-treated NiTi alloy, MG3 Gold offers enhanced flexibility, superior resistance to cyclic fatigue, and smoother canal preparation while preserving the natural anatomy of the root canal.
This system integrates glide path creation and shaping into a simplified, logical sequence, reducing the number of instruments required and improving overall clinical workflow.
🔬 System Composition & File Specifications
MG3 Gold consists of five precisely engineered rotary files, each designed for a specific clinical function:
| File | Size | Length | Torque | Function |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| SV | 20/.10 | 19 mm | 3.0 N·cm | Coronal flaring & orifice opening |
| PX | 15/.03 | 21, 25, 31 mm | 2.0 N·cm | Glide path preparation |
| G1 | 20/.04 | 21, 25, 31 mm | 2.0 N·cm | Initial shaping |
| G2X | 25/.04 | 21, 25, 31 mm | 2.0 N·cm | Finishing & apical refinement |
| G2 | 25/.06 | 21, 25, 31 mm | 2.0 N·cm | Large canal shaping |

⚙️ Clinical Protocol for Use
-
Establish a glide path and determine working length (WL). Scout the coronal two-thirds using #10 or #15 hand files until glide path is confirmed.
-
Use SV to open the crown and middle upper canal portion. Enlarge the orifice, remove dentin, and brush canal walls with circumferential motion.
-
Reconfirm glide path using #10 or #15 K-files.
-
Use PX (15/.03) to create a smooth and controlled glide path up to the working length.
-
Shape the canal using G1 (20/.04) followed by G2X (25/.04) up to the WL.
-
Use G2 (25/.06) when treating larger canals or when additional taper is required.
🧠 Design Advantages & Clinical Benefits
-
Enhanced Debris Removal
Optimized cutting design efficiently removes dentin debris, improving canal cleanliness. -
Reduced Post-Operative Pain
Smooth cutting action and controlled shaping help minimize apical extrusion. -
Improved Clinical Diagnosis
Better shaping and cleaning improve irrigant penetration and obturation quality. -
Gold Heat-Treated Alloy
Provides superior flexibility and fatigue resistance, especially in curved canals. -
Simplified Instrument Sequence
Integrates glide path and shaping, reducing instrument changes and chairside time.
🆕 MG3 vs MG3 Gold – Key Upgrades
Navigate Phase
-
MG3 Gold integrates previous glide path files into PX (15/.03), simplifying navigation and improving efficiency.
Finishing Phase
-
Addition of G2X (25/.04) finishing file enhances shaping efficiency and increases patency rates in curved canals.
Overall, MG3 Gold significantly improves workflow while maintaining safety and anatomical respect.
